The town of Crescent was named for
a grouping of trees that grew in the
shape of a crescent moon where the
town is now located.

Crescent schools are proud to provide
a technologically advanced curriculum
boasting an excellent and fast growing
computer network.

The art department recently received a
grant to study the art of glass blowing
and the artistic contributions of Dale
Chihuly.

A new sports complex was built
in 2006.

New to Crescent is the addition of
The Frontier Country Museum, which
features a wide variety of collections
that were a part of  life in Oklahoma
in days gone by. The museum is a
tribute to the many volunteers who
have donated their time and collections
to this effort.

A vintage doctors office, a collection
of tabletop spoon holders and
drugstore memorabilia are just a few
of the collected items.

In addition, the one room schoolhouse
where many residents learned to read
and write has been moved onto the
grounds of the museum and stands
as a reminder of how much Oklahomans
valued a good education then and now.
The dedication of the one room
school house brought out a large
crowd on Land Run Day 2008 to
appreciate the Frontier Country
Museum and the memories of
those who received their education
in this vintage school house which
will soon be lovingly restored by
Crescent and Logan County
volunteers.
The simple beauty of the
countryside coupled with
abundant water and lush
pasture land in the Crescent
area brings to mind the
importance of agribusiness
to rural Oklahoma and
promises to provide stimulus
for the economic growth
the communities in
Logan County encourage and
welcome in the 21st Century.
Crescent's ball field
is one of the newest
additions to the school
campus and
one that inspires pride
and inspiration
for students, faculty
and citizens of
this Oklahoma town.
